We're finding out more about the shooter. Do you think his actions are a combination of mental illness (he was clearly disturbed) and the current rhetoric around his target?

Yes, he's a nut job but I don't know about his target. It was conveninet and he had some axe's to grind with quite a few folks and institutions. I think the target was convenient as he was shooting outside before he went inside the building - convenient. It could have been a McDonald's and he'd be complaining about something in the happy meals.

So I am curious-- how is the media 'labeling' him-- as a mentally ill person in possession of a gun or as a homegrown terrorist?

You forgot to add that he is a cop killer too...and injured several other LE officers too.
