Having host prattle on about their personal life...I can't reach for that remote quickly enough.

@Etoile308  - I've never been interested in any of the hosts personal life.  My pet peeve is when they do the family talk during presentations (Jane T, etc).

Years ago, when I was a little newer to QVC, I enjoyed watching cooking shows from Meredith Lawrence. I learned a lot that I still use, and of course she did all of her cooking using products sold here. I ended up watching one right after the other. There must have been a Bowl game on downstairs! And we must have either finished dinner or not started yet!

I must say I was sadly disappointed with QVC on rerunning products for sale as opposed to what they normally did in the past. every Christmas I kind of look forward to seeing what David was up to over the Christmas holidays or just getting to know the different hosts and their traditions etc. it was a nice break from the commercialism that takes place the rest of the year. I was pleasantly surprised to find the gem shopping Network was doing it. they even did a touching tribute to a host that had passed away recently. disappointed in you QVC I hope you make up for it next year.

You shouldn't even be watching tv on Christmas! Turn it off and be with your family. Sad.

@ID2    This is a harsh reply. You assume that everyone has family. Some don't. If the OP wants to watch QVC on Christmas day who are you to judge?

@ID2  - Not everyone is as blessed as you to have family.  Some may have family, but live far away and can't afford to travel to be with them.   Some don't celebrate Christmas.

Christmas night, after everyone went home and we had finished with the big clean up it was pretty late.  I put the Q on at midnight to see what kind of programming they were broadcasting that night only to discover that at midnight MBR was presenting that Ryka TSV.  In the past live programming didn't resume until 8 in the morning the day after Christmas. So they either changed that policy, or they pre-recorded the Ryka show for midnight.

It's sad that you would try to make someone feel bad especially on Christmas and especially most of the time @ID2.

I hope you are not the same with your "family." That's really enough of the mean girl. People have feelings whether you see them or not. A kind or mean word can make all the difference. Make or totally break someone's day, week, or month.

It's what makes these forums with so many wonderful posters also not worth coming to anymore. It's sad as you say.

Keep in mind that if they do special programming for one faith based  holiday, they would have to do the same for others.  And then where does it end?   Doing behind the scenes type stuff on an assortment of holidays would seriously cut into QVC's profits.  Like it or not, the bottom line is what QVC is ultimately about.

@JeanLouiseFinch Huh? They've been doing the special Christmas day programming for years. Why is it now an issue

It's my theory, @Ladybug724.  Christmas used to be the common celebration among most of the population, but that's no longer the case.  There are all kinds of belief systems out there and those who celebrate something else could demand their own special programming too. QVC may be taking the safe route.  Just a thought.

I totally agree it's just been so commercialized. at least one day a year they could give it a break
