Book for those brought up in the 1950's

I have discovered Bill Bryson. Love to listen to his audio books. (His voice is quite unique).

Anyway his book titled "The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid" has had me just about on the floor with laughter. It is a memoir of his growing up in the Des Moines Iowa area in the 1950's. His commentary about the times is so on target with how things were back then I am sure anybody of that generation will enjoy it. His description of the toys of the era is priceless in itself. I am constantly saying "I remember that! I remember that!"

I also enjoyed his book "Neither Here Nor There" (that might not be the exact title but it's close).

Anyway if you can get the audiobook from the library check it out. The way he reads his work is half the humor.
