WHAT A MAJOR MISTAKE!  They gave the award to the wrong group/film.

How awful for both groups, the stated winners and the real winners.

This is the only time that's ever happened.

I just watched the clip online. Warren showed the card to Faye and Faye barely looked at it and she called it out. Then the guy who was telling about the mistake rudely yanked the card out of Warren's hand. What a mess.

Yes I believe him.  It was Faye Dunway who announced it when Warren held up the card for her to see.

Jusr a guess, but from what Beatty said, I think there could have been two cards.

One announcing the category ES won, and the Faye/Warren card just saying ES, La La land.
