DH already bought my gift and it's already arrived. I don't know what our kids have planned, if anything. For all I know, they may have to work. I did make a point to tell DH, and I do it every year, that I DO NOT want to go to a restaurant. I'd rather eat a hotdog at home than to be part of all that commotion. BTDT back in the day and I finally had to put a stop to it.

I'm using it as an excuse to buy myself a new handbag. Since retirement, I hardly buy myself anything because I have too much already considering I don't dress up and leave the house everyday. I have nowhere to store this purchase so that means I have to donate one or more.

@debcakes If you think of it, would you let me know how the surgery goes? I just cancelled mine for June 20, but I'll probably have to do it within 6 months or so. Best of luck with yours!

No real plans in place. Sunday is usually a no cook, dress up day. My children will at least call and wish me a happy day. DH will escort me to church, breakfast, and dinner. I may post a photo of my outfit on "What Did You Wear Moher's Day?" if there is one.

@MickD; you & me both. Not doing nothing, nada. My DH & DS will be a different matter, lol!

@Noel7, thank you for that beautiful idea of remembering your mom with a picture and candles. Very poignant.
The weekend I got engaged in 1996, my future-DH flew us to Sedona so he could propose on the top of a mountain. (I had zero idea that was coming.) Afterward, he drove me to the Chapel of the Holy Cross, such a beautiful and holy small chapel built by FLW into a hillside, so I could light two candles in my mom's memory. I was overcome with emotion. And definitely knew I had a keeper. I'm lighting candles for my mom again, too. I'm sure she will know.

My oldest daughter (who lives closest) is having a cookout for me, her mother and father-in-law.
But she gives me a gift all year long. She lets me take my grandchildren to the movies, lunch, etc.
She also manages my late husband's businesses for me.

My four legged kids have something special planned for me next Sunday, but they won't tell me what it is. They just giggle and tell me that they can't wait for Mother's Day.

I dont know what we are doing yet.. But whatever we do it will be with my children and grandchildren. We usually go out to eat and or they come here.
I actually do not care for Mothers Day since I lost my Mom way too young. But, I make the best of it for my family. Once my daughter had kids, I started buying her Mothers Day gifts since I didnt/dont have my Mom.
I will also go to my parents grave in the morning Mothers Day as I always do.

My stepchildren live abroad and my Mom has been gone 25 years now so I won't do anything.
