Read about 10 pages of it. Didn't care for it. It goes back to the library.

10 pages?

I think most books deserve more of a tryout than that!

I actually did the same thing.  The whiney, paranoid character was a turn off.  It does usually take longer for me to know if a book is for me, but this one was a dud right away.

I, too, struggled with the beginning but enjoyed the book as a whole.  I will never travel alone!!!!

I believe I listened to about 1 or 2 discs before I decided I did not care what the heck happened next.

I very rarely stop reading a book, but this one, I just could not get into at all. I quit after 50 pages or so. I just didn't care what happened. I am glad I borrowed it from the library, so no money lost..

insomniac: I can usually tell after a few pages how I am going to feel about a book.
