Oliver Sacks has died.  I have enjoyed several of his books and the movie "Awakenings", based on a book of his.  My favorite will always be "The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat."  He was so very bright and talented that he managed to be a brilliant neurologist and a gifted writer.

I liked all of his books. He had a real talent for explaining scientific research and principles in an understandable and humorous fashion. I really enjoyed the movie Awakenings, which was a screen adaptation of his book by that name.

That's so sad. He was a compassionate and creative human being.

Both he and Chuck close had facial blindness which is an inability of recognize faces (because the face has so many different moving parts)... in extreme cases, even of your loved ones. I came to understand my own (mild) facial blindness because of their openness to discuss this issue.

@bebe777, I first learned about this by reading his book. Fascinating... It made me want to do further research.

@Adelina

I'd like to read his autobiography, 'On The Move, A Life', also 'Musicophilia'.
