Re: Favorite historical fiction books?

Still thinking of some

THE SECRET CHORD by Geraldine Brooks which is a story about King David.  She has several that I would like to read.   THE PEOPLE OF THE BOOK  is on my Kindle app.

THE RED TENT by Anita Diamonte.  I've got her THE LAST DAYS OF DOGTOWN waiting in that "stash" on my Kindle app.

One of my all time favorites is THE PILLARS OF THE EARTH by Ken Follett and the sequel WORLD WITHOUT END.

The Trilogy of the North and South books by John Jakes.  He writes amazing historical fiction books, especially about the Civil War era . . .

I loved John Jakes "Kent Family Chronicles" (mid to late 70s/8 books). I was around 30 at that time.  They were written to commemorate the country's 200th birthday.

I love that book so much. I've read it many times. A German friend of mine loaned it to me in German and then I've read it many times in English.

@skyblue thank you!  It's another one of those books I could read over and over.
