First let me start with saying Happy 50^th Birthday Cathy!!!  And thank you to James, Ricky, Chelsea, Lauren, Kennady & Avery for making it possible for Cathy & I to get away for a couple days.  It has been a looooong time since we have done anything like this, just the two of us. 

When I asked Cathy what she wanted for her 50^th she said Vegas Baby!! Our plan was to play tennis, see a show, do a spa day, walk around to see the sites, check out the different casinos, etc.  But we didn’t overplan.  It was a play it by ear kind of trip. 

We were ready to go after the big snowstorm the week before.  And were looking forward to warmer weather.  We stayed at the Bellagio.  I always think about the movie Ocean’s 11 when we are there.  There is a scene in the movie where they are showing the fountain and the music in the background is Claire De Lune.  And sure enough there was a pianist playing it! 

The hotel is beautiful.  The atrium was all decked out for Chinese New Year with beautiful fountains, flowers and a Koi pond.

It was 68 degrees and sunny when we arrived.  But the winds of change were in the offing, literally.  Sunday, it turned rainy, windy (and I do mean windy) and cold.  Tennis was out but we did brave the elements and walk around to the different casinos. 

 

Monday was spa day. 

Of course, we ate well…

Vacations always seem to take forever to get here and then fly by so quickly.  This trip was the same.  But we had a great time and look forward to visiting Las Vegas again someday soon.
