What are the Biggest Trends for Fall 2012?

I can't believe that Monday is Labor Day; I'm not ready for summer to end. I'll really miss my maxi dresses and sandals. But spending a few days in New York last week really made my mouth water for fall fashion!

There are a lot of great trends this season, but I think four of the most important are:

  1. Lace: It's extremely important to add some lace to your wardrobe this fall. There are a lot of ways to do it, but a blouse is probably the easiest.

  2. Sheer: The sheer trend continues for fall. Embrace it, but understand it REQUIRES something to be worn underneath! Make sure you have some good camisoles. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

  3. Ladylike: This is a "finished" trend we're seeing in a big way with a classic influence. It's a little dressier and more polished. Think blouses, pencil skirts, beautiful fabrics, pumps, luxury handbags, etc.

  4. Leather: Leather is bigger and more versatile than ever this year. You'll find it on everything from jackets and pants to shirts and bags. It's better than ever, and there will be no shortage of ways to wear it.

In two of "The Looks" for this Friday's LRS, "Viva La Femme" and "Lovely in Lace," you'll find all four of these trends represented. The blouse is lace, sheer, (although not too sheer), ladylike, and the G.I.L.I. bag gives you that pop of leather.

If you're going to get your wardrobe started for fall, you've got a great place to start with these "Looks," since  they work with many different styles. If you gravitate towards a more a classic style, they're beautiful. If you're a major "Fashion Girl," you can add it to the list of things you'll find in our Fashion's Night Out show next Thursday, live from New York. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

There's so much great shopping to look forward to! I better update my calendar so I don't forget.

See you Friday night for The Lisa Robertson Show. And don't forget…the G.I.L.I. bag won't be available until the start of the show at 10pm ET.
