I finished a fabulous 24-hour day at QVC presenting our amazing denim shirt TSV,  and decided to squeeze in a mini staycation at my place in Pennsylvania. 

I had the best time!  If you follow me on Facebook and Instagram, you might have seen some of the pictures I posted of my week of leisure. 

Time off for me means several things.  Entertaining and serving fabulous food, spending time with my buddy Roscoe, tending my garden, and a project or two around the house so I don’t feel like a bum. 

Let’s start with the food!

I started the day with fresh local fruit with non-fat yogurt and granola every morning. (That way I can cheat a bit during lunch and dinner and not feel too guilty!)
 

One night we grilled a couple of whole mackerels and served them topped with a salsa of black olives, tomatoes and fresh herbs from my garden. Delicious!
 

Another night I made fabulous cheeseburgers on the grill with meat from my friend’s farm up the road. (A fun place to visit if you are in the Chester County, PA area www.wyebrookfarm.com) I paired the burgers with homemade, hand cut french-fries. Now remember, I started with a healthy breakfast!!

And of course, salads and more salads using all the incredible vegetables my garden is producing!

Friday was National Tequila Day, so I had no choice but to make my famous Margaritas!!

It’s such a simple and perfect recipe:

1 part fresh squeezed lime juice

1 part Grand Marnier liqueur

2 parts very good quality tequila (I like Patron Silver)

Shake with lots of ice and strain into salt-rimmed glasses. Cheers!!!

A great part of vacation, (at least for us guys), is that you don’t have to shave. Here is the only picture you will ever see of me with a (slightly) scruffy beard!

I had a fun time shopping at Costco!

Also had best friends stay for the weekend and we had a blast.

And they FINALLY finished my stone wall project (mostly!)

I think it looks awesome!

I cleaned my garage… (several friends pointed out it was already immaculately clean and tidy!!)
 

And most important, spent a whole lot of quality time with this guy:
 

One last funny note: I went to a “Your Home With Jill” event with my friend, Jill Bauer, and wore my new blue blazer.
  

If this were Fashion Police, Joan would have declared, “B____ Stole My Look!!!!!” I love Andy Cohen and he clearly has impeccable taste in jackets!  Thank you Ralph Lauren for keeping us looking sharp!
