I’ve written in the past about Joan’s love of the holidays and Christmas decorations. She often joked that by November her New York apartment was half blue and white (for Hanukah) and half red and green (for Christmas!) 

In 2004, Joan and I designed our very first set of holiday ornaments. Of course the theme was Faberge inspired, as we both shared a passion for all things Russian!

Creating our annual set of ornaments was something that we both looked forward to every year; topping last year’s designs, inventing new techniques, creating heirloom-quality keepsakes that we were both so proud to put on our trees.

You might not realize that every ornament we bring to QVC is limited edition, hand-blown glass.

 

These photos illustrate the blowing of the molten glass into the egg shaped mold.

Each egg is painted by hand and hallmarked with the year it was created.

Our Set of 12 Russian Inspired Mini Egg Ornaments (debuting in my September 15^th show at 5pm) is particularly beautiful this year. I sometimes showcase these eggs clustered in a glass bowl on my coffee table (and I’ve been known to leave them out until spring…. just too gorgeous to put away!!)

For our second year in a row, I worked with my good friend Jill Bauer on a new version of Russian themed cardinal ornaments and I think you will agree the results are spectacular!!!

When I placed my 2015 Joan Rivers ornaments on my tree last year, I knew my tree looked perfect and ready for the holidays!!
