QVC Goes Live from L.A. on Tuesday Feb. 28th for "Red Carpet Beauty”!!

by on ‎01-19-2017 03:30 PM

It’s awards season in Tinseltown, the big 2-3 month period that is the lead-up to the grand dame of red carpet walks, the Oscars. I’m BEYOND excited to share that for the first time, QVC, me, and Alberti from BeautyIQ greatness, are headed West for killer cool live beauty coverage from atop one of the trendiest spots in West Hollywood, to chronicle how the celebs get their looks. We are bringing cool brands and items, many of them new, plus tutorials, all engineered to surprise, delight, and invite in real women everywhere to the glitz and glam of red carpet beauty season. (PS: I am shopping for dresses already and plotting my spray tan as we speak!)

In honor of the tres chic show, I’m hard core “Indiana Jones-ing hot new beauty. It’s not a tough job because 2017 is barely two weeks old and already there are a slew of new brands and items that have hit the market that I honestly am crushing on. Heck, some things aren’t even at QVC and I’m still crushing and sharing them with you. So this week, my PMS blog is about hot beauty, and the fun that is to come in LA at the end of February…

#10: Have you heard of “Dip” nails?

My manicurist Teresa (who says hello, she loves you guys, especially when you love on my nails) turned me onto “The Dip” about a week ago and I truly feel that it’s beauty life changing. I couldn’t possibly describe it as good as I can show it…so in case you missed my video post on Instagram, here goes. I think this is one of the biggest, awesome-est trends for 2017 (not including JamBerry who seriously need to come to QVC because they make these ridiculously clever nail decals. But I digress…)

#9: Philosophy is your new aesthetician!

Philosophy launched about a week ago, this cool mask that is called Pore Extracting. My expectations of masks are pretty average as often I find they are little more than “fun to put on and fun to wash off”. I’m not joking though, when I first tried this oddly affordable new launch from PHL, I had to climb half legged on top of my bathroom vanity to get close enough to my bathroom mirror to search for my pores…because they appeared to disappear! This mask is the golden ticket. Forget that it’s only $30, it actually uses some weird clay married with Salicylic acid to “extract’ and sort of suction out of your pores. I seriously could not find my enlarged pores after I washed it off. MariLyn Meier from PHL and I were swapping dueling texts the night we tried ours for the first time...

#8: Doll10 Oil-Infused Lip Serums

Beauty oils are hot. Everyone is using them. To cleanse. To moisturize. To treat hair. Now, beauty oils are landing on your lips. Except they are just oils, they are like oil infused serums…that are lip color. It is so weird it must be good. And I am of course chasing them hard to launch in one of my shows. Sidebar: Until the lip oil serums launch, I heartily recommend checking out Doris’ s/4 Velvet Lip MOUSSES. I seriously can’t make this stuff up. She made lip color, into a fluffy mousse that paints on with a wand but isn’t sticky glossy, its more creamy velvet. And the colors are sublime.

#7 TULA 360, baby!

It looks nothing like an eye serum, and it doesn’t come in a jar. It looks like a marker, with a silver tip. This stuff has been featured in the LA Times and Allure already this year, and a certain actress who you know, has been asking for stockpiles of it. It might be because of the before/after pictures, which are truly some of the most dramatic I have ever seen from skincare. 2 kinds of probiotics, retinol, and a serum that comes with a cool tip applicator and is meant to be applied 360 degrees around the eye and lid. It is seriously like magic when you see what this stuff did to the women in the study who used it for 4 weeks.

It’s going to be a big year for TULA, our little QVC brand created by a Harvard and NYU trained Gastroenterologist. Dr Raj and TULA just launched in the SpaceNK boutique in Bloomingdales so clearly buzz around this line that launched at Q, is spreading. Here here to Probiotics!!

#6 Mally Launches ‘Oxygen Water Infused’ Foundation

A.) Serum foundations = super hot trend in 2017! Skincare = makeup. The days of heavy creamy overly liquid and gooey MAKEUP foundation are gone. Heck, even the days of powder foundation seem to be fading. Serum foundations are the hot new toddy. One of my favorites is this new launch from Mally that we just debuted in PMStyle: Mally’s Transforming Foundation. The brush is everything, but the foundation is soooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOO awesome. It is suspended beneath a mesh curtain, in a compact. When you press your finger against the mesh, the foundation, this cheesecake-like solid, liquefies and melts into your skin with a weightless, instant-dry, matte finish that mimics a cream to powder finish and feel. You feel NOTHING on your face. What’s in it, she can’t tell you or she will have to…no just kidding. It’s powered by Oxygen water. #cool.

#5 Philosophy Body Moisturizing MOUSSE

There are hair mousses. Lip mousses (see aforementioned Doll10 lip sticks) and now, oh yes it’s arrived…Philosophy has invented BODY mousse. We know you love their firming body emulsion, the whipped body cream, the body soufflé, but they had a head for innovation and change – MOUSSE IT UP. The latest is a body serum moisturizing mousse launching initially in two of your fav fragrances, Pure Grace (my fav) and Amazing Grace (my friend Jenny’s fav). I cannot wait to try this, and I love new textures and delivery systems. I kind of feel like if the whole world could just become a mousse, we all would be happier. Just saying.

#4 And the statue goes to...the Olga Lorencin “Red Carpet” facial!

She is an L.A. skincare guru who is always getting press for her legendary red carpet facial and her stunning Kinara Day Spa. Well now, you can get one of her special awards season pamper sessions…at home. It’s debuting in our live from LA show, but I’ve already said too much….

Ps: The last time I went to L.A. red carpet coverage, I was a newbie host at QVC, only a few years old and accompanying two of our most talented and legendary beauties at the event of the season! How about this for a photo op! So fun…what good memories. #ingoodcompany

#3 Self Tan, man!

I love self tanner, and this year, 2017 brings a bevy of new ones that tickle my interest. Million Dollar Tan out of Southern California, St Tropez One Night ONLY (cool right, it’s actually a liquid wash off bronzer for your body…I love their EXPRESS blue bottle, 1hr tan) and the Josie Argan Oil Liquid Gold tanner with the velvet mitt (Ok this one isn’t new but its new to me) are my favs. And a little tan glow is always very red carpet ready…

#2 Epilate Epilate Epilate!!

Yes, I talk about my obsession with epilating way too much. No, I’m not done yet. Yes, I’m here again to tell you discovering what I once thought was a painful scary awful “no good” concept for getting rid of hair, is now my everything. I actually get excited for the hair to grow in..so I can epilate it! I own 3 emjoi’s, one is the portable “epislim” but if you’re gonna tackle legs or any larger areas, you need the Maserati of epilators…the 84disc. This bad boy is going with me to LA for sure. I’m telling you, epilating last year for the first time ever may be the greatest beauty discovery of my entire life.

I’m not kidding.

#1 Tune in: Tuesday 2/28/17 @ 8pET on QVC, and then 10pET on BeautyIQ

It promises to be a super cool, one of a kind, extraordinary event, live from Los Angeles, just two days after the Academy Awards. I cant WAIT to get there, see you, and dress up with my pal Alberti, to talk about present, and DEMO LIVE, some of the most trending and gorgeous beauty finds of 2017.
