Our First Rose!

It was 1990, and we just finished our first St. Patrick's Day show, a four hour event that was very popular!  So we decided to do another Irish show in the fall. I researched Irish festivals and we thought that the Rose of Tralee festival was perfect.  Every year the Rose of Tralee is chosen from Irish "roses" from around the world.  So I was so excited to be packing my bags once again to head to the Emerald Isle!  My husband Sean came along as our producer, and we were so happy to be planning another show for QVC.

We landed in Shannon airport early in the morning. The director of the airport met us with steaming cups of Irish coffee!

From there it was a quick touch up in the ladies room to start shooting for the show. That day will live in my memory forever as the day we were all starving! We never had a chance to get breakfast or lunch, and when we finally stopped for dinner there was a fire in the kitchen and the restaurant closed! We ended up sharing one very small pizza while dreaming of an Irish breakfast in the morning.

We took lots of footage for the show.

At every turn were amazed at the stunning Irish landscape.

I was on the lookout for wild Irish roses, and found this one in the village of Adare.

We were blessed with beautiful weather as we toured Ireland, happy to be preparing for another Irish milestone on QVC.

And I'm happy the show continues in 2015, both on QVC and QVC Plus!
