My Autumn Staycation Picture Diary

I love all four seasons, and living in West Chester, PA really allows you to experience the best that each season has to offer.  Last year I loved watching all of the leaves turn to a warm color palette while the cool crisp breeze in the morning had me craving pumpkin spice lattes and comfort foods.  This year, I planned a staycation to make sure I got to experience the best of Autumn, and I wanted to share it with you.  Check out my picture diary of the past week, and let me know how you plan on making the most of Autumn weather.

I got to “be one with nature” and decorated the outside of my home with an assortment of hearty mums, kale, pumpkins and ribbons.  I re-purposed a lantern that I picked up this summer and made it feel season appropriate by tying an orange bow at the top.

I love the rustic feel that this season offers, and nothing reminds me of it like wreaths and corn husks at the market.  I took some mini sized corn and attached them with a burlap and flannel pattern bow to my coconut broom from last spring.  How neat!? It helps me clean up all spring and summer and now it’s the perfect decorating accent!

I did a lot of country drives and got to visit a sunflower field right near my home! It was so beautiful and I made a friend while I was there…cute smile!!

I took the Chester County Day house tour and got to see some AMAZING 18th century homes in my area.  Some were updated, some were very close to their original condition, but one thing was constant….it was fascinating!

The gardens were really beautiful too! These were some of my favorite photos of the day.

My friend Krystal celebrated the grand opening of her new consignment store called Old Soul Decor and I got to go to her party and see some of her gorgeous curated collection.  If you ever come to West Chester, you should check this store out!

Prince Charming had to get a procedure while I was home, which was perfect timing because it allowed me to stay home and take care of him.  Thank you for all of your prayers and well wishes on Facebook…he’s doing much better now!

And of course, I was able to have some friends over for a get together.  The hor d’oeuvres and dessert were a hit!

And I also did some baking too! I made these pumpkin cookies with 2 ingredients!!

I learned this recipe last year with Jane Treacy and Angel Smedley.  It's easy and yummy so give it a try!

1 15oz can of pumpkin
1 box of spice cake mix
Mix together until all lumps are gone. (If you want...try adding chocolate chips or m&ms to the batter.)
Spoon on to cookie sheet with parchment paper.

Bake at 350 F for 15-20min or until edges are golden.

Let Cool and ENJOY!
