Thank you all!!! Lets make this fun! Share your photos with me on my Facebook or Twitter Page!
My all time favorite cookie at this time of the year is the traditional Holiday Spritz! I love the butter and slight almond taste to them!
We love dying half a batch green for Christmas Wreaths and trees --- and the other half red for Christmas stockings! I love making these with my cookie press, but they can easily be rolled and cut into size if you don't have one!
Makes about 60 cookies
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup sugar
2 1/2 cups Gold Medal all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon almond extract or vanilla
Few drops of food color, if desired
Heat oven to 400º.
Beat butter, sugar and egg in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon. Stir in remaining ingredients.
Place dough in cookie press. Form desired shapes on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 5 to 8 minutes or until set but not brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheet to wire rack; cool completely.
