Kicking off 2016!

by on ‎01-14-2016 05:27 PM

So, “The Joe” (as my Mom calls him) and I were running our Sunday errands and what should appear but a little sign from the G-O-D. (I don’t care how long we live or how jaded we get or how UN-impressed we are by things we know)  - a rainbow. Not a wimpy one that is half visible and half not and sort of kind of, but not really…a huge, robust, glowing, colorful, and fully arched, RAINBOW, right there. Right there!

Got me to thinking about rainbows…mainly bc Joe asked. “What causes a rainbow, isn’t it a sign the storm has passed?” (I’m thinking, “No bud, has nothing to do with whether the storm has passed or not…”) Rainbows are biblical, but beyond religion, rainbows symbolize hope. Which we all need. It’s simple really - they just glow of happy.

So struck me, what is my source of “happy” this year, what do I hope for, what do I long for, what am I “going to God” for? I don’t mind telling you, bc you know I am largely an open book. First, I hope to get more fit. i know my body needs it, and from an aging perspective, my prospects are much more prosperous if I “get moving” and honor my body. But the biggest prayer and hope, is that Joe and I will become parents. i keep waiting on God to bring that home, to bless us, to decide that we are ready…

So here I am, and as I look forward to 2016, there is one thing that tickles me in the near future. My 5 besties from HS, the girls who have entirely helped me survive life, we are reunion-ing in California in Feb for a little, “rent house . drink wine . absorb sun” long weekend.

Btw I pray not a single girl is reading this bc I ordered us all matching IML! pajamas for our girls trip. Just seemed like a fun photo opp. Btw, my girls trip comes days after our exciting ‘Live from NYC’ PM Style show to honor all things fashion week. Tune in Monday Feb 15th and you will find Amy Stran and I hosting both Inspired Style and PM Style, live from NYC. And boy do we have cool surprises in store.

One other thing to share that happened this year - a small souvenir from the Napa summer trip Joe and I took this past summer, arrived. Joe and I toured some vineyards and fell in love with Palmaz. Thank you David Dangle of Joan Rivers Worldwide. Thank you dearly. So Joe and I signed up for the “ship later because we harvest and bottle later” selections, and we are already plotting what special occasion we might open these two beauties, for.

At present, I am watching episode 1 of the final season of Downton Abbey .. I cannot talk further though because I must focus on my sweet Brits and the drama that unfolds…
