Happy August!

Hello my fellow LCNY fashionistas.  Happy beginning of August.  Some of you have gone on vacation while others are still planning their beautiful week somewhere with the family. 

 

I, for one, would like to put the brakes on this summer.  It has gone by so quickly and that of course, means Kevin will be heading back to school.  His first apartment ever (yes, Mom is a bit apprehensive), but we are having fun collecting the furniture and items needed. 

 

Everywhere you look fall is in the air ..... magazines, TV ads and style shows. 

We have our big fall fashion kickoff starting this Friday, August 7th.  I am very excited about our upcoming show this Wednesday.  We have several new items wear now / wear later.  I find transition pieces easier for me since I am always sad to say good bye to summer. 

 

MBR (Mary Beth Roe) is away this week home with her gang......I am excited to share our time together with a very good friend of mine, Pat James-Dementri.  Our friendship started 13 years ago when I was on the morning show with Jayne and Pat.  We hit it off immediately.  Pat is the same on air as in real life.  Just lovely, kind, gentle, caring of others, and has an infectious laugh. 

 

Pat and Jayne were my rocks, especially at QVC when I was going through Larry's lung cancer.  It was a tough 18 months, but they were always there with a smile, a kind word, a hug.  It was a place I could go and almost be normal.  After Larry passed away........they did not stop.  Sometimes when you have experienced death of a spouse, your friend base changes, people, want you to be back to your old self.  No expectations from them......they let me get through, knowing they were right their beside me, made me stronger. That my friend is a sign of a true friend.  They joined me on my crusade for free to breathe.....a foundation for lung cancer especially clinical trials.  They stood by my side at both of my daughter's weddings.

So Wednesday will be a special day for me ... in 13 years I only think I've have had a one-hour show with Pat twice.  So bring your cup of joe, a smile, your friendship and let's celebrate LCNY and the power and love of a good friend.  See you soon.
