Getting all pumped up for Rose of Tralee!

I'm getting all pumped up about the event!! - here I am beside an old hand pump in the  Bunratty Folk Park, located close by Shannon Airport in the West of Ireland.

The first transatlantic commercial flights were made by seaplanes that landed in the nearby River Shannon, but it was not too long before a proper runway and Airport were built nearby, which is now known as the world famous Shannon Airport.

It was necessary to demolish some old cottages from the local village to make way for the new Airport, but luckily it was decided to conserve them and  have them carefully re built   in the shadow of Bunratty Castle. It's a wonderful re-creation of a working Irish Village, and well worth a visit.

See you soon.
