Five Fun Facts about Super Saturday—QVC Style!

It is the designer garage sale of the Hamptons! The 18th annual Super Saturday was another huge success filled with thousands of shoppers shopping for a good cause-- the proceeds benefitting the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. While many of you shopped for your favorite QVC products on air (for 50% off!) shoppers on-hand got to peruse the rows of designer booths. Some of the brands on hand: Donna Karan, Diane Von Furstenberg, Versace & hundreds more. So what were the highlights? Here are some things that stood out:

5.  The Grass Carpet:

The event started off with a celebrity filled red carpet (well, green grass-carpet!) It was filled with press from around the country & celebs like Kelly Ripa, Brooke Shields, Gayle King & Donna Karan.

I made sure I stopped by B Floral’s custom headpiece booth—the piece went perfectly with my GILI dress. I felt like a princess!

4.  QVC’s Setup:

Wowza! The elaborate set- set the tone for the most glamorous flee-market I have ever been to. The two-hour broadcast (which I am sure many of you watched) took so much manpower to put together. I’m glad so many of you loved the GILI Hobo…it sold-out before I even went on the air!

3.  Shopping tip:

There are no dressing rooms so you have to be creative when trying on clothing. I told friends to wear bathing suits so they can change in the open booth to make sure the designer duds fit!

2. Food & Fun!

There is everything from pizza to pasta to delicious desserts. My favorite? The corn-on-the-cob. In addition to it being a shopping event, it is a blast for the kiddies too! The little ones loved the rides, arts & crafts and (of course) ice cream!

1.  Make sure to pick-up your bags! The way it works: when you buy something they give you a ticket for what you bought and then hold the items until you leave (very smart, then you don’t have to carry them around.) The only thing…you just have to remember where all the booths are of the things you bought. Of course, I had no problem finding them!

What an amazing day! I’m so proud to be part of the QVC family and be such a big part of the event this year!

P.S.- The event had everything! I even got a reading!
