April has already been a big month for us! Our first book, Dream Home: The Property Brothers’ Ultimate Guide To Finding & Fixing Your Perfect House, came out April 4 and we’ve been on a nationwide book tour for signings and press. We’ve traveled to 10 major cities, signed countless books and met thousands of fans in only a few short weeks!

Being able to personally connect with our fans has been amazing and we’re so grateful for all the support. In the midst of the tour, we got word that Dream Home debuted on the April 24 New York Times Best-Seller List—wow, what an indescribable feeling!

Though it’s been a whirlwind, our travels wouldn't be complete without making a stop at QVC for Scott Living! We were so happy to be back for our live appearance on April 16. It’s a place that truly feels like a second home. During the Scott Living design process, we’re always thinking of our fans and the hard working couples and families we work with on Property Brothers. We know affordable luxury and functionality are important factors, and that’s what we weave into every bit of the line. When presenting on QVC, we love the real-time aspect of unveiling our creations and hearing the excitement from viewers! (Insider secret: Indoor pieces and bedding are coming soon too, but shh!)

On April 16, we showcased more backyard décor and furniture. As Spring weather warms up, we expect lots of you to be planning outdoor parties and barbecues. Even though we’ll be filming non-stop this season, you can find us by the pool and firing up the grill whenever we get a day off. Nothing makes us happier than hosting a house packed with friends and family, grilling out, playing with the dogs, swimming and of course taking full advantage of our water slide! We’ve filled our own backyard with lots of Scott Living collection so there are plenty of spaces for everyone to relax and hang out. The glow of the Tiki Torches and Woven Lanterns are a really nice touch when it gets dark. (That’s also when we break out the guitar and sing around our fire pit, just like our childhood days on the ranch!)

When designing for outdoor living, remember to keep the seating area close to the back door. Create a nook if possible, adding thin stone slabs, ornamental bushes, flower planters, benches, latticework and a water or fire element. For color palette, echo hues and materials used inside your house to make the backyard feel like another extension. A few additions, such as a deck area or hanging string of outdoor lights, can further help create an inviting, unique space for you and your family to kick back.

After we wrap QVC, it’s back to filming for HGTV. In between shooting season six of Property Brothers in the New York and Westchester areas, we’re releasing “Let The Night Shine In,” our second country music single and its accompanying music video, so be on the lookout! Then, we’re headed to BookCon on May 15 in Chicago and Nashville’s CMA Music Festival in June. To get all the latest news and see behind-the-scenes insights, follow us on social media—we love seeing your comments and pictures!

Look forward to seeing you at the Q and online!
