Date Outfits for Day and Night and How we do Sunday Funday

Hi all!  As many of you know I'm a very happily married gal to an incredible man named Steve.  In fact next month we are going to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary and that is on top of the four years we were together before we were married.  He is my best friend, I know it sounds cheesy but its the truth, and because of our weird work schedules we really value the time we have together.  Though we QVC hosts do not have set schedules I do often find that Sunday is usually a day off for me.  Sunday also happens to be one of Steve's days off as he is in car sales and here in PA dealerships are all closed.  So we make the most of Sunday and have even been using the term Sunday Funday as we jam pack as many adventures into that day as possible! It truly is one long big date day!

A typical Sunday Funday first starts with sleeping in.  Now our sleeping in is a little different as we are early to bed early to rise people.  We can seriously be asleep by 9pm on a Saturday so sometimes we are both up before 7 on  Sunday.  Now if its a healthy Sunday Funday and lets face it, few of them are, we do a morning workout.  In the summer we were biking or running outside but in the winter its get in get out and we do a quick gym workout.  Now the problem is fall happens to be our favorite season and it seems to make Sunday funday even more enjoyable as they have recently been starting with a trip to get apple cider donuts, the newspaper, and upon our return home the fireplace gets turned on and we lounge around until the CBS morning show (love this show!) is over.  We usually pop up on the week day and there is no take a deep breath and enjoy your coffee so on Sunday it is heaven to just slow down.

Once our show is over who knows what will get into but the one thing for sure is that we typically like to leave the house. Now you know I love to shop and good thing for me I married a man who doesn't mind shopping so often our Sunday's include a trip to the mall, maybe antiquing, or we love to go to gourmet grocery shops as we enjoy cooking, and we also love to go to new towns all around where we live.

If its the mall its straight to King Of Prussia!  You would love it!  It's huge and has a great mix of high end and low end stores but what I like best about it is that even though it is large it never feels too crowded, you can always find a place to park, and there are plenty of places to grab a yummy lunch while there.

If its antiquing on a Sunday, a love I got from my parents, we usually just drive and get lost to find great stores.  There are plenty around us but one of the joys of antiquing is you never know when a store will pop up.  Plus this always allows us to explore all the towns around us and sometimes when its time to turn around and head home you realize you went an hour, hour and a half away from home.  Love that!

Food is huge part of Sunday Funday as Steve and I are both foodies.  traditionally that word use to have a snobby vibe to it but when we say foodies we just mean we love to eat. Whether its fine dining, good road side grub, or delicious gourmet groceries we are happy to indulge.  We are the people who over breakfast are talking about what we will do for lunch, and over lunch we are talking about whats for dinner, lol.  We really like going to BYOB's so I always joke that we pack a diaper bag before we leave the house because we take bottles of water as I try to drink a lot, usually an apple or protein bar to hold us over between meals, and a bottle or two of wine just in case dinner is out.  Gosh, I sound so robotic but we like routine and routine means stay out and make the most of the day!

Now you know I'm a lover of fashion so part of the joy of Sunday is the fact that I mentioned it really is our date night.  This is the day where we are more casual in our outfits.  Steve doesn't need my help when getting dressed and is more of a jean, button down guy.  He seems to leave his shirts out for the casual dates and tuck them in when we are going out with friends or family on a Saturday.  Even his jeans seem to go casual into dressy.  He has a pair that aren't as slimming and are more relaxed for Sunday but then has a really nice pair that he bought out in LA when he visited me this last year that he saves for more dressier nights.  I must say I credit him for elevating my look and teaching me that it is better to have less than more.  I use to be the girl who couldn't walk away from a sale and would buy just because it was inexpensive but that meant the things I bought weren't necessarily what I needed or truly wanted.  Now I don't buy unless I absolutely love or need and often save and then splurge on pieces that I will have for years.

As far as how I get ready for date nights, I like to describe my look as classy with a twist.  I tend to go with basic classic pieces but when I put them together I like to experiment with colors and layers.  On a casual date event like Sunday its flats, jeans, sweaters, or my comfy maxi dresses.  For evening dates if its something that came with a fun invite I like to wear dresses but if its just a random night out then I'm a jeans and heels girl.  I will say Clutch bags are my big difference when changing from casual dates to formal.  A clutch bag to me is the perfect evening staple and makes your outfit look dressier in a second.  In fact I have a summer clutch and a winter clutch and have had both for years!!

Here are some pics that show you the way we dress for our dates together.  Send me some of you and your date looks too.  We can even use them on Inspired Style when we return in January.  Happy dating whether its with a special loved one, a group of friends, or just time alone that allows you to have fun!!
