Catching up with you

by on ‎05-05-2010 11:59 AM

I hope everyone is enjoying this gorgeous spring weather.  This is going to be a fairly long blog because I wanted to address as many of your concerns as possible.

First and most important, Barbara thanks you for all the kind thoughts and wishes.  We all miss her and wish her the best and a very speedy recovery.  I really enjoyed working with Moss and Michael during Barbara's recent shows and know from your threads on the jewelry forum that Moss was a favorite.

Kaplan206, thank you for your continued support and comments.  I did go to the thread on the Ripka Forum and was surprised by all the issues concerning quality.  Every comment was copied and sent to the buyer and to the factory.  I will keep you posted on their responses, actions, and results.  I am so glad that you love the abalone pendant; it is one of the most beautiful pieces of jewelry I have ever worked on.

Das, thanks for the heads up about Kaplan as a caller on Judith's show.  Sorry I missed it but love the idea of the Kaplan pearl dangle earrings and know that Judith really appreciated to hear how her jewelry affects her life.

Saint Louis Gal, there are a few places in the world that have made me stop and stare in wonder.  These include the Taj Mahol, The great pyramids in Egypt, and Jerusalem.  The history and significance is just awe inspiring and I hope that your family can experience them as well.  I am so glad that you were able to add Judith's emerald cuff to your collection.  You should never put emeralds in an ultrasonic cleaner.  The best way to clean jewelry and gemstones is with a mild soap, an old very soft toothbrush, and warm water.  Did you see the SeidenGang items that were on air?

Charmed-Jenna, thank you for the kind comments.  I have to say I am a big fan of Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys.  I will be writing several travel blogs but am waiting for the broadcast team to edit the footage so I can include videos.

Kiwi55, good sleuthing.  You found the first clue!  Stay tuned for more hints.

Lalainga, so glad that you have written to me and thrilled that you actually watch me on air.  Two of my favorite people in the whole world are Carolyn Pollack and Ann King.  Both are beautiful inside and out.  I will pass along your request for more size five rings.

SalmonFiend, I do read each and every comment and try to answer as many questions as possible.  Thanks for the suggestions of the Emergen-C, I did get on a high vitamin regimen and am feeling really good.

Waterbaby, I am so sorry that you had problems with returns.  I did forward your comments on to the QA team and they told me that they had reached out to you personally about these issues.  I have asked them for a quote that I can post on my blog addressing what they are doing to make sure this doesn't happen again.  Natalie told me that Judith's Turquoise and DMQ bangle will not be offered in a small but many of her new bangles will be.  I also asked about the Amethyst/Peridot ring and Natalie said: The amy/peridot ring is still on WL but there is an order coming in at the end of May.

Indy55, I am glad you received the correct size and keep me posted about AD#3.  I do not have access to any private information but greatly appreciate your kind offer to visit you all in Williamsburg.  It's never enough, is one of my mottos.  If you ever visit my house in Richmond, you would understand why.

Pitzel, I did reach out to the Adrienne, the buyer, and here is her response:

"Barbara is developing more size offerings within her collection. Based on your customer feedback, she will have 3 size bracelet offerings going forward as well as smaller size rings. Please keep the requests coming!"

Val76, thank you for the kind words.  Unfortunately, Barry has decided to keep his signature alligator items to his line that he offers in retail stores.  His other critters are pretty spectacular and I can't wait for you to see his newest items.  The earrings and ring that you refer to were my favorites but no longer available.

Webgirlfl and kaplan206, I did reach out to the marketing team concerning the Easy Pay on Demand and am still waiting on a response.  I reminded them yesterday and hope to have more info soon.

Judyakm, did you happen to see the 20 and 24 inch artisan crafted chains from Thailand that I sold on Sunday?  It was back in stock for the first time in three years and sold out very quickly.  If interested, I will let you know when it is back.  Natalie said that she spoke with Judith's team about a "ripkarized" extender and they are working on it.

JLLH358, so glad that you received both the Leopard Opal and the Russian Jade.  I love it when we can offer unique stones.  Stay tuned for the big gem event in July.  We will be offering stones never sold at retail before from locations/mines that I didn't know existed.

LuckyPeach, you are too kind.  As a consumer myself, I am appalled at the lack of service and follow-up in today's market.  It always surprises me that big stores don't realize how important service is to all of us.

Che, Colson, and losmo, I am so glad that you have either tried the Gold Redemption process or plan to.  It was really easy and the cash I got came in very handy.

IheartGoldens, golds and yellows were huge at the recent Basel jewelry show.  I know that the very few amber items that we have here at QVC do very well.  I will reach out to the buyers and find out if we will be seeing more.  Amber is fossilized tree resin that can be anywhere from 320 to 150 million years old.  It has great natural beauty and no two pieces are alike.  Many times natural substances such as plants or insects can be found trapped in the amber.

Kaplan206, I did reach out to the broadcast team about the Linea Line and they responded:

"Look for more new fashions from Louis Dell 'Olio in his upcoming shows:

May 12th at 6am, 1pm, and 7pm (This is his 10th Anniversary with QVC!)

June 9th at 4pm

June 10th at 5am

Plus…. keep checking the program schedule for future Louis shows, and watch for brand new fall fashions later in the year!"

WVnorthstar, Barbara is working on a skull for QVC and it will be on air in the fall.  I did a Google search and found a pendant and charm from her Couture collection.

Luvsiamese, thank you for your comments on the new community forum.  I forwarded them on to the team that is working on it.

Judyeye, thank you for reading my blog and please let me know if you have any questions or problems.

I am headed to Louisiana in about thirty minutes to spend time with Mother and Charlie, my Stepfather.  My Mother is doing much better but Charlie was recently diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and is not doing well.

Take care all,

Peyton
