Best Birthday Ever

by on ‎02-11-2016 12:18 PM

You probably know that if you've spent time with me over the years at QVC. I especially like when people make a fuss over birthdays! This year I turned 54, and Cara couldn't make it home for my birthday. So we had dinner a few days before and when dessert came it had a candle and Happy Birthday written in chocolate.  Yum!IMG_4188.JPG

Then on my birthday, my sister Chrissy and our dear friend Florence took me to tea! Florence made favors for us, and we had a wonderful time.  They even brought a candle in my lemon scone, to go with my Irish Breakfast tea.IMG_4184.JPG

Then it was on to work, where I was working from mid afternoon until 10. Knowing I wouldn't get home till close to 11pm, I told Sean and Deirdre we could just celebrate the next day.  On my way home I called Cara who was out of town, chatting on the speaker as I drove home.  She wished me a happy birthday and told me how she wished she could be home.

When I got home the call switched to my cell, so we kept talking as I walked into the house.  A very dark house, where everyone had obviously gone to bed. Except Kiki of course, who expected treats, not to made a big deal about my birthday!  I was grumbling to Cara that no one was awake.  Then I walked into the kitchen and there were Sean and Deirdre holding a cake with candles and they started singing Happy Birthday! I was so surprised and said to Cara on the phone, "Can you hear them singing?!"  She answered yes, but not over the phone, from over my shoulder! She took the train home to surprise me! I jumped up and down like some one welcoming a loved one home from years away!!!! IMG_4187.JPG

Needless to say it was the best birthday ever and the cake tasted sweeter since we were all together!
