Beauty with Benefits!

Hi Friends! It has been a while since I have checked in on the blog, so I thought I’d do so now. It has been a busy spring so far with lots of traveling, lots of shopping with you on QVC, and of course lots of happenings at home with our little girl.

My last visit to QVC was an extra special one and I hope you were able to join us last Thursday for QVC + CEW Presents Beauty with Benefits. Last week was a tough one for me – I was battling a serious sinus infection/cold all week and was hoping I would start to feel better by Wednesday and Thursday. But as you may have guessed given the tone of that statement, no such luck.

Between feeling under the weather, work, packing, remembering to post to my FB page (yep, I know that one slipped through the cracks!) and prepping for the show, an unexpected scheduling conflict came up with our babysitter and it totally felt like one of those ‘when it rains it pours’ situations.

As you know, I am a big believer in creating your own destiny -- Your thoughts, become your outcomes, and I was determined to get my head on straight and make the most out of the situation, despite all the mayhem. In fact, it was when I stopped dwelling on the issues happening in my personal world, and started getting ready for the Beauty with Benefits show, that I sort of placed all of the pieces together.

The stress, the nerves, the feeling of ‘how will I ever get it all done,’ that was going through my head earlier that day, was just a small part of the anxiety and fear that most cancer patients experience upon being diagnosed. Some of the most difficult obstacles that a cancer patient faces are the ones that are often over looked – How will I tell my boss? Will my diagnosis affect my performance at work? Upon surviving, how will I get back to work? Cancer and Careers (the charity in which 80% of the purchase price of the donated products for Beauty with Benefits supports) helps answer all of these questions for working people that are diagnosed, battling, or have survived cancer.

It is so wonderful to be part of such a magnificent community and family at QVC, where brands within the industry can come together to support amazing groups like Cancer and Careers. I had a few great pictures from the night and wanted to share them with you here! Enjoy J PS:  In case you weren’t able to join us on Thursday night, you can still shop for the cause HERE
