A Three-Ring Circus of Style

The Countdown to Christmas has begun! It’s less than two months until Christmas and lately I’ve been hosting several gift-themed shows. Yesterday I had two hours of Late Night Gifts and one item in particular gave me the warm and fuzzies. It was the Ringling Brothers & Barnum & Bailey Circus Tent (T29591). Seeing the tent reminded me of my childhood and how much fun I had at the Ringling circus. My little sister Lea and I couldn’t wait for the circus to come into town. We loved seeing the exotic animals (especially the elephants!), the death-defying stunts, and of course, the clowns.

My sister actually ended up going on tour with the Ringling circus her first year in college. Ringling held auditions for dancers at her school and she booked a one-year contract. My parents were very reluctant to let her go. She had just started college and was only 18. But my sister convinced them to let her spread her wings and she literally ran away with the circus.

Lea had a blast while on tour with Ringling. She lived like a gypsy on the Ringling train traveling from city to city. And by the way, I had the opportunity to tour the train, and boy, are the rooms small! I wouldn’t even call it a room. It was more like a double closet, similar to a tour bus bunk bed. It was cramped and claustrophobic, but it was her home and she loved it. I saw the show six different times and it was so much fun to watch her perform. And of course I got the VIP backstage treatment! I fed and rode the elephants, tried to balance and walk on top of the big balls, and even bungee bounced inside the US Airways center in Phoenix. It’s been awhile since I’ve been to the Ringling circus, but with the birth of our daughter, I hope to take her in a year or two.

Sometimes PM Style can feel like a three-ring circus. Take this upcoming Monday’s show, for instance. Dennis Basso will bring the exotic animals (okay, a faux-fur coat), Joan Rivers will bring the laughs, and Lisa Robertson will be the master of ceremonies, keeping the show on track and the excitement going. You are the audience who we hope to entertain and leave you wanting more.

So make sure to tune in to PM Style with Lisa Robertson on Monday at 7pm ET. The show is jam-packed with new fashion and beauty items from Denim & Co., philosophy, and George Simonton. Also my Perfect Pair this week is one of my favorites so far; the Bianca Jump Lace-up Boots by Sofft (A325074). With these rugged military inspired boots, I could be the woman shot out of the cannon at the circus!

Have a great week and I’ll look for you on the live Facebook chat during the show!
