Back to Minneapolis!! While my family has moved out of my hometown, two of my besties still live there, and this past weekend I indulged in friend time of the highest order!

I miss these two every day, and each has something very special going on right now. Lisa – in the middle- just turned 50! and her sister was throwing her a surprise party. Timi – far right – just became a grandmother, and I have been dying to meet the

beautiful baby girl.

 

I arrived the morning of Lisa’s surprise party, so I had all day to meet and enjoy baby Charlie.

 

We took her to lunch with us at Timi’s favorite restaurant.

 

Afterwards we drove by my childhood home. I was so delighted to see that it’s the same color as it was when I lived there--- true story.

 

And it was like 58 degrees!!! so we all went for a walk at Lake Harriet

That evening was Lisa’s “surprise party!” Janet and I both came in from out of town to surprise her!

The next day Lisa and I went to check out the Hippie Modernism exhibit at the Walker.

And we swung by our high school for a photo op. Lisa and I met there in 9^th grade… 36 years ago!!!

 

And we went to Lisa’s house for a little nosh and to hang with her dogs Rover and Nico.

My whirlwind visit wasn’t complete until I saw my sweet Landis (Charlie’s mom). Thankfully she was available to visit for a bit… with baby Charlie of course.

So now my cup runneth over. I am filled to the brim with love for, and from, my friends. These are the times we live for!!! When was your last trip to see your friends? I would love to hear about it!!
