It may sound strange, but of the many brands I present at QVC Diamonique is one that I'm most closely tied to on an emotional level. Why? Because in many ways it represents who I am at the core.
I often describe myself as a dreamer. I'm always imagining the highest and best I can possibly envision for myself and my daughter, no matter how lofty it may seem. I was a single mom in her late thirties with no formal training in broadcasting when I decided I'd roll the dice and try for what had been a dream of mine for years: to be a host on national television. I still can't believe I'm here. But now that I am, my goal is to convince as many people as possible that dreams can come true. You just have to envision it, be grateful for it, and believe.
Part of what helps me see and believe my dreams before they've manifested is my "Vision Board." On it I place clippings, phrases, and photos of things/places/experiences I want to see and have in my life. It's a powerful reminder for me to stay focused, feel what it will be like to have those dreams come true, and get in a good place emotionally and mentally.
For years I had a photo of a diamond tennis bracelet on that board. I was very clear about why I wanted it: not so much because it was an expensive piece of jewelry, but because of how I believed it would make me feel. Pretty. Strong. Accomplished. Driven. Energetic. It may sound silly, but that one bracelet became a symbol of what I was envisioning in my life. It wasn't a gift I was hoping to receive, either. I wanted to select it and buy it myself.
After my dream of being a host on TV came true, I had the opportunity to host my first Diamonique show. As I presented, held, toured, and wore my first Diamonique tennis bracelet, it occurred to me:
This bracelet was beautiful. Breathtaking! But when I wore it, I didn't just feel pretty. Strong. Accomplished. Driven. Energetic....
It reminded me I already was all those things. I didn't need a budget-clearing bracelet to tell me that. Here I was wearing the identical bracelet in Diamonique, and of course it sent that same message...if not even better. I bought my Diamonique bracelet, and I wear it almost every day. It reminds me to be proud of being a dreamer, to teach my daughter to believe in herself, and to spend as much of my time on air and online as I can encouraging all women to feel like the pretty, strong, accomplished, driven, energetic beings they truly are.
Now, I have three. There's the one that started it all (left), the first Diamonqiue Tennis Bracelet TSV that I kicked off (middle), and something SPECIAL that I'll get to show you at midnight Thursday (hint, hint!)
May seem a little silly, getting that worked up over a bracelet. But if it serves to keep me dreaming big, and celebrating your dreams come true too, then I'm proud to be a silly gal.
See you at 12:00am ET Thursday, to share my story with you on air
XO,
Jen
