fall ginger pumpkin

I order the TSV (awhile back) that included the Fall Ginger Pumpkin. It arrived in October, but I'm just now opening it. When I try to put the pump in the bottle it doesn't fit. The diameter of the white plastic piece on the pump is larger than the opening of the bottle. Am I doing something wrong? I also notice the same situation on the 32oz pump/bottle of the Pomegranate. Any thoughts?
