burgundy roots and black hair...help

I went to a single person salon and had my hair colored.It is very dark in there so i could not tell how bad the color was.I said that

i didn't like it when I left and she said give it a couple of days and after a couple of shampoos.Well today I was outside with my DH and he said the whole top of my head is burgundy and the rest is black.I told her I don't like dark colors but I never thought to say that I hate burgundy too.What do you think caused this?What should I do?I don't think that she knows much about coloring but the cut is good.
