I've always puzzled over this because I read somewhere that sunscreen, even if undisturbed on your skin, loses it's effectiveness after 3-4 hours.
So, I get ready at 5 am., drive to work in the dark, stay in an office all day with an occasional dash out to lunch, and then drive home in the afternoon during daylight and go in the house. I wouldn't think I would need to re-apply UNLESS it's really not effective after 3-4 hours. That would mean during lunch hour and the drive home I'm not protected.
I just saw this video done by a Dermatologist, and I'm thinking I should just quit worrying. He doesn't even address the length of time that it stays effective on your skin - he only addresses whether or not you wear it off or rub it off.
