New to BE Board - Need Help

I am almost 50 and have huge pores. When I put my BE foundation on, I can't get it blended over my pores to dimish the look, and they seem to stand out even more. I buff it in as described, but is there something more someone can recommend. I like the foundation, but I don't need any help in making my pores look big.

Oh, I have tried putting the foundation on with and without the primer. It looks the same whether I use that or not.
