Mally eyeliners- Hard to Sharpen? Do you need an acutal Mally eyeliner sharpener?

Ok. So, I made an impulsive purchase on Sunday of the Mally Waterproof Evercolor Glam-time 3 pc Pencil Set. Now today, I am reading the reviews and a lot of them are saying they like the colors of the pencils, but there is no way to sharpen them. Can anyone who has/had these pencils help me out? Because I can't cancel my order now b/c it has already shipped, but I don't want to have to purchase an $20 (w/ S&H & taxes) Mally Sharpener just to use her pencils. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!
