Mally eye gel pencil (ink)

I bought this about a month ago. It's in a black curved tube. How do you apply it. I put it on & it says "whoah, here comes Dorothy's eyes!!". It's so deep & the color goes on wide. You know what I mean? the line is probably 2 mm deep. It's too much. how do you do it? do you cut your tip so it won't be so bold?
