Andrew Lessman.  Along with healthy nails and hair growth, I truly believe there is an improvement in my skin, especially my face.  I originally thought it was my skincare product, and it may help, but I really think these supplements do something toward better skin texture.

However I'm pleased to say as I have less hair now but it ALWAYS comes back and it has got to be by taking my Biotin gel (only GEL CAPS not hard tablets I was told) at 5,000 mg. once a day. I take other meds and there are no interactions, it's a very benign supplement. I see sprouts an top of my head every day as soon as the others fall out hair grows back...albeit not as full sadly but it's hopeful!!! My head gets cold now :/ I hate it! I have to say that it's been truly a Godsend to me.

The pink gel caps by Nature's (something-forget sorry!) are at the grocery store or CVS etc. are best. But I can't always these pink gel caps them so have taken Nature's Bounty brand for years now and they help Smiley Happy

Both work.. but my stylist a health food nut and highly educated in this area of hair nutrition swears pink is better. So I do hope this helps others as it as to me. I'm thinking about the goofy looking IGrow cap here to help even more...maybe on my next huge win at out the casino I'll buy it....yeah right lol. But seriously I just may buy it. Losing hair stinks and the grey sprouts pop up right after having it pro-colored and well..ugh to hair loss!

Re: Hair vitamin - which one do you use

I posted this in the other thread too:

I use 5000 mcg of Biotin (Sundown Naturals brand)

and

1000 iu's of Vitamin E (Sundown Naturals)

It is for my hair, skin and nails and it works really well.  I have a much longer post in the other thread, if you want more info.

I am pretty sure that I am the only woman in America who did not see improvement from Andrew Lessman's hair, skin and nails supplement. So many really love it.

As as it turned out I tested anemic and needed an iron supplement. I began to see results (thicker hair) in about a month after I started using Hemo-Plex. I had no idea there was a relationship between low iron and hair thinning.

Not sure why the pink gel caps would be any better than any other source.  I use the Nature's Bounty quick dissolve tablets.  They go under the tongue, so they bypass the stomach.

I also take Evening Primrose Oil.  I read that both the Biotin and EPO were recommended for people with hypothyroidism for hair and nails.

I have never tried Andrew Lessman's products.  Personally, I think they are too expensive, but also I tend to wait until the last minute to replenish my supplement supplies.  And, I prefer to use individual supplements since the combo versions usually don't have the potency I want in at least one of the active ingredients.

As far as the iron goes, just a warning that you need to be careful about supplementing with iron if you haven't determined that your iron is low like islandgrrl is.  Too much iron in the system is dangerous.

My experience with prescription iron supplements years ago was not a particularly good one.  My stomach was grinding all the time as though I was hungry even though I knew I wasn't really hungry.

Re: Hair vitamin - which one do you use

My husband and I started taking AL SH&N for thinning hair and nails a year ago. We both saw results in about 3 months in our hair, but it did nothing for my nails, he didn't have a problem with his nails. I stopped with the SH&N and now take AL MSM 500 which is good for joint health and skin, hair and nails. The jury is still out on the MSM, I usually like to give a supplement at least 3 or 4 months to see if it really is helping.
