I do not have nice nails. They are thin and soft. After taking A.L.'s multivitamin with biotin, I have noticed an improvement. Although, they are not super strong, they are growing and do not break or tear as easily.
I have always kept my nails short, buffed, and filed. Now that they are a little better, I am polishing them with quality nail color (OPI and Essie). However, the polish (two or three coats) wears off of the tips in just a few days. Is this because I continue to buff my nails about three times per month? I use a clear base coat (Mary Kay or Pro Strong), so I do not think it is my polish. I tried using specialty products (Seche Vita ...) but discovered that any fast drying polish pulls the moisture out of my nails and makes them extremely brittle. It takes two months for the damage to grow out, so I do not use any fast drying product.
Any suggestions? TIA!
