Last week I picked up Revlon Colorstay foundation to try (reg. not whipped) for oily/combo skin in 220 Natural Beige. I've tried it twice and I can't get over how cakey/mask-like it looks on me, especially around my cheeks. I have nice skin, it's oily and I'm going through hormonal breakouts, so I know I have the correct type. I use a very small amount so I know I'm not putting too much on. I use a primer and I've tried applying it w/ my fingers then the Avon Beauty Blender dupe and yesterday I used a damp cosmetic sponge and that technique looked the most promising. I usually set my makeup w/ a pressed powder, but I haven't even been doing that b/c I don't want to cake it on.
Does anyone have any tips on how they apply it? Could I have picked too light of a shade? I'm on the light side of medium and I've been wearing Rimmel lasting finish foundation and I combine shades 200 & 100.
