Years ago we saw Paul Anka in concert as well as the French crooner, Charles Aznavour.

Don't think I could tolerate the crowds now....and the prices are ridiculous.

We saw Paul Anka in December.  He still puts on a great show.  There was no intermission and he sang for almost 2 hours. (never hit a bad note)  He even came out into the audience and danced with a number of (lucky) ladies.

As for ticket prices, his tickets were less than half price than what we paid for Andrea Bocelli 2 nights later.

I don't know if this qualifies since she didn't live long enough to get old, but I saw Janis Joplin in 1969 at Northwestern University.

Re: What Are Old Musicians You've Gone To See?

So many!  From my generation, these are the most notable.  Except for the Beatles, all were enjoyed at small venues in Detroit and California.  Most of my memories of concerts I've attended have gone up in smoke Smiley Embarassed ...

Beatles

Four Tops

John Mayall (after Clapton left)

Jeff Beck

Butterfield Blues Band

Crosby Stills, Nash & Young

Leo Kottke

Ottmar Liebert

But older still, from my parents' generation...

Stan Kenton (my Dad's favorite...Dad played alto sax locally...I grew up listening to the Big Bands and going to Dad's jam sessions...I'll bring pics when we meet)

Oscar Peterson

Thanks for the memories @ECBG ...love the Eagles!
