Daily Positive Thread for Friday, July 29th

Hello my friends!  My face is red!  I had the wrong day.  This week has been getting days mixed up. Sorry!!!  I had twin duty today and although it went fine, it really does tire me out!   My husband came in the afternoon and he fed both twins while I did other chores.  Darla was hardly there, she was up all night with Alyssa, so she was told to take a sleeping pill by her husband so she could sleep.  She got up to pump though so her babies get enough milk.  So tiny and so cute!  Soon they should know their grandparents!  The other Grandma is there as much as me taking care of them taking turns.  It'll be nice to have the day off tomorrow to clean here, and get a dish ready for the family reunion on Saturday.  Then the next twin duty will be on Tuesday, and Wednesday too, and that's Darla's birthday.  Her doctor's appt. is that day.  And I have twin duty on Friday, so 3 times next week.  Have a great night and great tomorrow!

Never stop praying no matter how hopeless your case may seem. Pray before
you start your day and when you end it. Pray before you begin a task. Lord, I
thank You for all of Your blessings. Together we can do all that I must.

"If there is any encouragement in Christ, any consolation from love, any
sharing in the Spirit, any compassion and sympathy, make my joy
complete: be of the same mind, having the same love, being in full
accord and of one mind."  Philippians 2:1-2

M E D I T A T I O N   F O R   T H E   D A Y

There is great joy in living the spiritual life.  A faith without joy is
not entirely genuine.  If we are not happier as a result of our faith,
there is probably something wrong.  Faith in God can bring us a deep
feeling of happiness and security, no matter what happens on the surface
of our life. Each new day is another opportunity to serve God and
improve our relationships with other people.  This can bring joy.  Life
can be abundant and outreaching.  It can be glowing and outgoing, in
ever widening circles.

P R A Y E R   F O R   T H E   D A Y

I pray that my horizons may grow ever wider.  I pray that I may keep
reaching out for more service and companionship.

A Word of Kindness

Have I spoken a word of kindness today,
that would help someone find their way?

Did I tell him about Jesus who paid the cost?
Did I show him the way to the old rugged cross?

Was I there when he needed someone to pray
a little prayer that would brighten his day?

Did I pick him up when he stumbled and fell?
Did I tell him the pain of going to hell?

Was I there with him to cast a smile
that would make his life a little worthwhile?

Did I try to make him understand
how God moves with a mighty hand?

And dear God, please let me know
if I am the one that I might show.

The way to bring someone to Thee
and tell him about Jesus who can set him free.

And as I praise thy name, I say,
"Dear Lord, let me show him the way!"

By Abel Norman

The Lord's Test

I woke up this morning
and knew that today,
The sun would not be shining
and the clouds would be gray!

As I stepped outside,
rain fell upon my head.
My car wouldn't start
so I walked to school instead.
I forgot all of my assignments
I failed all of my tests.
I dropped my head in disgust
and asked the Lord for one request.

"Lord, why is it that things
won't go my way?"!
He gently replied, "Dear child it
is because you didn't thank me yesterday.

I woke you up and enabled
you to see the sun again!
I gave you shelter,
protected your family,
and even let you make a new friend.

I blessed you far
greater than I ever had before.
But you were too busy
to thank me once more.
You didn't feel sick
because I maintained your health.
You had money in your pocket
because I maintained your wealth!

You had shoes on your feet
and clothes to wear, too.
You had plenty of food to eat,
and what did you do?
You ignored me and went
about your tasks.
But when you wanted something
you never hesitated to ask.
I was there when you needed me
and that wasn't too long ago.
But when things started going your way,
it was me you did not know.
As if that weren't enough,
I provided your favorite luxuries.
This was something I didn't have
to do, they weren't even necessities.
And when it was time to get on your
knees and show your gratitude.
You decided that after such a
fulfilling day, you weren't in the mood.
So I decided to
give you just a little test.!
To show you how it would feel
to stop being blessed."

I began to realize what
the Lord was saying.
And when I got home, I fell
to my knees and started praying.

He said, "My child, you have
learned and you know I do forgive.
But remember to remember this day
as long as you shall live.
I love filling your life with joy,
and your pain I'll alleviate it.
But just a simple thank you
would show how much you appreciate it."

Old Mrs. Watkins awoke one spring morning to find that the river
had flooded the entire first floor of her house. Looking out of
her window, she saw that the water was still rising.

Two men passing by on a rowboat shouted up an invitation to row
to safety with them. "No, thank you," Mrs. Watkins replied. "The
Lord will provide." The men shrugged and rowed on.

By evening, the water level forced Mrs. Watkins to climb on top
of the roof for safety. She was spotted by a man in a motorboat,
who offered to pick her up. "Don't trouble yourself," she told
him. "The Lord will provide."

Pretty soon, Mrs. Watkins had to seek refuge atop the chimney.
When a Red Cross cutter came by on patrol, she waved it on, shouting,
"The Lord will provide." So the boat left, the water rose, and
the old woman drowned.

Dripping wet and thoroughly annoyed, she came through the pearly
gates and demanded to speak to God. "What happened?" she cried.
"What else did you want me to do," God said. "I sent three boats."

July 27 - Jesus Calling

Hope is a golden cord connecting you to heaven. This cord helps you hold your head up high, even when multiple trials are buffeting you. I never leave your side, and I never let go of your hand. But without the cord of hope, your head may slump and your feet may shuffle as you journey uphill with Me. Hope lifts your perspective from your weary feet to the glorious view you can see from the high road. You are reminded that the road we’re traveling together is ultimately a highway to heaven. When you consider this radiant destination, the roughness or smoothness of the road ahead becomes much less significant. I am training you to hold in your heart a dual focus: My continual Presence and the hope of heaven.

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
-Romans 12:12

But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.
-1 Thessalonians 5:8

God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.
-Hebrews 6:18–19

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Friday, July 29th

Good morning ladies -- Gloria, thank you for the wonderful words today.

Babies, we know, can be tiring.  They are just so wonderful, we forget how tired we are until we get home and can sit for a spell.  Rest up and you'll be ready for next week.  Poor Darla and the little one, up all night.  That is rough.  Prayers for Darla and the granddaughters, that they can begin to feel better.

Meallen - thank you for the wonderful pictures everyday.  They are beautiful.

Nancy - those little kitties, they need to get well.  Hope they do just that.

Enjoy your day all!  Prayers for those who have suffered loss, have sick relatives and friends, and also those that are suffering silent ills.

Nancy - wishing the kitties well soon!  How old are they?  My Mickey lived to be 14.  Lori's cat, Phoebe, is 14 now.  Try not to worry.  Just have Faith.

3suwm5 - You're so right that we can sure get tired by taking care of little babies. Sure hope Darla didn't have another night with a twin who's a night owl.  Taking a nap very shortly.

Thank you Gloriajean!  My Faith and VIrginia will be 11 Sept 1st.  Faith's cold seems to be better but she is going to the vet tomorrow since her eye still seems to bother her. Virginia, I can never tell with, she vomits all times of the day so hoping and praying for a good rest of the day.  Thank you for asking!

Please rest yourself so you can be at your best for your daughter and those 2 miracles!

Peace, Nancy
