How to handle between cleansing days

Hi everyone, I'm trying to figure out how to spread my cleansing days out. I currently wash everyday and use the CCs, styling creme, mousse etc. I just ordered the Replenishing Mist to use on the non cleanse days. Do you use the styling creme on non cleanse days? Do you use the mousse? Or just the replenishing mist? I always use the SC and the Mousse in wet hair (works best for me) but I read that the replenishing mist is used on dry hair...and I remember Chaz saying not to just wet your hair without using the CC. So maybe use the replenishing mist on damp hair after using the other two products in wet hair? Any suggestions on how to handle those non day cleanses with these products? (As you can read I'm all mixed up! Lol) Thanks everyone!

Re: How to handle between cleansing days

My hair is just above my shoulders, med thickness, naturally curly a little on the dry side. I cleanse every other day or every 3 days. The day I cleanse I use a half pump of CC as a leave in then SC, and mousse and most of the time let air dry curly. The days I don't cleanse I use a wide tooth comb to comb out my hair then put my head under the shower to get it wet. I use a little CC as a leave in, but not as much as my cleansing days. Then I add mousse and RTM. I know he says if you need to wet your hair then you might as well cleanse, but for me this works well. If I don't wet my hair on my "off" days it's a mess. Curls sticking out everywhere, really bad bed head. Not a pretty picture! :-)

That's what I was thinking! If I don't wet my hair a little then I'll have hair sticking in all sorts of directions lol. I'll try that and see how it works. Thanks!

Re: How to handle between cleansing days

RTM is fabulous for in between days. I have been using wen for 18 mos now and can go 3 days between cleansing. My hair used to be so oily washing was a daily must, so it is nice. What I do is first thing spray the formula that works best for me all over. Then I put my hair back with a head band and dampen again with the mist, getting the hair underneath well. The hair looks mildly wet. I comb through, then put on makeup. By then it is dry and I style with my flat iron. Viola as good as day one. Good luck. Oh hint...sometimes the rtm formula best for your hair can be different than the CC. At least for me. My CC is pom and Sam...my rtm is lavender or bgt.

I didn't realize the RTM scents worked differently. I just received the Cranberry Mint RTM yesterday in the mail. I used my oil last night so this morning I had to cleanse. Tomorrow morning I'll try the RTM. Thanks for the tips! Hopefully the Cranberry mint works for me, sprayed it yesterday and love the scent!

Re: How to handle between cleansing days

I think I finally found the best way for my hair and using the RTM. On the 2nd day I do wet my hair so I can add the Styling creme and the mousse. Before I add those, I spray the RTM in my hair so my hair can absorb it, followed by the styling products. It works really well! And I love using it on my face at night, and to set my make-up.

Definitely a fan of the RTM now {#emotions_dlg.biggrin} Thanks everyone for the advice's!

Glad it's working for you! That sounds just like what I do. I love the RTM also, I use it a lot. On my hair, face, body, even as body splash on my clothes. I love the POM and FAS. Yum!

Re: How to handle between cleansing days

I have medium thick wavy hair that is also just past my shoulders. Before Wen I'd have to wash every other day. I just went 5 days. I pile my hair in a scrunchie at night, wake up and my hair falls back into place with light brushing. I spray my RTM in TT every morning before brushing and also use the SOB RTM for scent. It dries without greasiness. I used dry shampoo today for a bit more volume and put it in a bun.

Re: How to handle between cleansing days

I know 5 days sounds like a lot, and it was pushing it for me. Usually three days is my max, but I have dry hair and sometimes I feel like this is what it needs. I don't have a dry scalp anymore thanks to using the oils.

Re: How to handle between cleansing days

I cleanse with lots of CC once in shower... RINSE like crazy---then use one pump of styling cream. I don't use the replenishing mist often...maybe three times this winter when my hair seemed dry and flyaway.

I don't like the mousse, and I use the oil---a half bottle---once every two or three weeks by rubbing it into the bottom third of my longish hair and letting it sit for a couple of hours while I do other stuff. Then I cleanse.

I only have to cleanse every other day. I really just like the styling cream and the seasonal CCs.
