I'm maybe 5% gray, spread through my hair. I choose not to dye them (I earned them!); and I love how Wen brightens them.

They have their own personality: if the rest of my hair is moisturized and curly, they are frizzy.

Other than dying, which is not an option, what can I do to tame them.

Have you tried tea tree? That works well with course hair such as gray.

The Wen remoist is excellent for smoothing frizz and fly-aways.

Omigoodness HonnyBrown I think we are the same person!!! My grays grow right smack in the middle of my side part, on the top of my head only. One small little section. Last time I got my hair foiled she went over the exposed hair with color to try to color the grays the best she could. It didn't seem to help because I guess a lot of the grays are hidden in the highlighted pieces. They are wirey, unruley, short, and just plain ugly. I pull them often, usually in the car because somehow looking into the rear view mirror I see them the most. I read that it was a myth that for every one you pull multiple grow back, simply because that makes no sense, but for me it seems never ending like they just pop up left and right! I do use a Frederik Fekkai glossing serum on my entire head very lightly when it is dry, just to give my curls some shine and definition. I try to put a little in the area but too much will make it oily. When my hair is wet I use Deva Curl styling cream. It doesn't seem to help too much. {#emotions_dlg.sad}

Wow, Wenners, great input, thank you!

I use Tea Tree, 613 and Fig. They work great on my hair, but my grays laugh at them all.

I have ReMoist in Fig and Pom. I haven't used them lately, so it's time to revisit them.

The only non-Wen product that I use is Pantene Curly mousse.

I love my grays; I just hate how they misbehave.

Honny

Sometimes a clear cellophane, or clear tint helps tame the frizzies. I clear coat also gives the hair a brilliant shine. I have wild,curley hair with lots of gray in the front. I tint my hair, but I use a clear cellophane after, or in between tints to tame, and smooth my curls.. It is mixed with a 10% special cream developer with fruit acids, instead of the usual peroxide with ammonia. Cellophanes come in clear or colors.

A cellophane gloss hair treatment is essentially a semi-permanent hair color without the color. This transparent and pigment-free gloss is applied from root to end of your hair, just as a semi-permanent hair color would be, and is left on for 20 minutes. It coats the hair shaft during processing but instead of changing your hair color it leaves a beautiful, clear shine behind. In other words---it's instantly healthy hair in a bottle. The results last for about four to six weeks and gradually fade away during this time
The clear gloss acts as a protective coating for your hair and not only makes it look and feel better instantly, but it also helps prevent further damage by shielding your hair from further heat-induced damage. Granted, it's not an impenetrable shield, but it will make a difference. Those who heat style regularly or expose their hair to chlorine or salt water often protect their locks with this clear treatment.

Can you buy this at any store? If so, what brand. I already have my hair cut and colored every 4 weeks. So I would like to be able to do this myself. I have dark-brown hair with a hint of red.

Shoekitty! I used to get clear cellophanes when I was relaxed and my hair was damaged! I completely forgot about them! I don't use heat on my hair, so the results will be even better. WOW, thanks!

Beeweaver, you can find cellophanes at a beauty supply store. I think the brand was Sebastian.
