Custom Mixing Wen Products, What Combo Do You Use?

Do you mix Wen products to make your own solutions? I have dry 3c/4a curly hair and I've been trying for 2 years to figure out how to use Wen as a leave-in. The cleansing conditioner and styling cream are a good start, but they don't keep my hair from drying out during the day. The oils and replenishing treatment mist do nothing for my coarse hair. But I recently decided to try mixing the remoist (the richest product) with the mist (the thinnest product) to get a happy medium. It is perfect. I add the mist to the remoist container until it's like a lotion, and then use that as my leave-in after washing. It has to sit for a few days before the mix is completely smooth, but then it's great. My hair is moisturized for days. So I don't have to pile on more products day after day.

Does anyone else have their own Wen cocktail? What's your hair type and what do the products do for you?

I sometimes use remoist straight up as my leave in - as do some others here. my hair is fine and has a very long wave and a pea size is all I need. Have you tried remoist without adding the RTM as your leave in? I'm going to try it your way.

My fave coctails are 613/fig and TT/fig tho I tend to often mix willy nilly a good deal of the time.

Yup. The friend who referred me to Wen uses ReMoist as a leave-in and loves it. It won't absorb in my hair though. I get lots of little white specks like dandruff... looks terrible.

I haven't figured out what to do with the treatment oil yet. It's not rich enough to do anything for my coarse hair, unless I use a whole bottle. I may add it to the Six Thirteen or styling cream and apply it as my post-shower leave-in. Maybe that'll work for wash & gos? We'll see.

I pretty much only use the remoist as a leave in but I only use a tiny bit for my longer hair. I think if you use too much of it, it could be flaky like you experienced.

The rtm and oils don't give my hair enough moisture and the rtm will make my hair feel sticky. I don't really use either of those on my hair at all. I've tried mixing them with other things, even the remoist like you mentioned, but they just don't work for me. My hair loves moisture and I just guess they don't provide enough moisture.

Hmmmmm, I like the idea of a mix of RTM and Re-Moist as a leave-in. I may have to try that for my (also coarse and curly) hair! What works best for me now in my dry, cold climate is 2-3 pumps (from the 32oz) of Fig mixed with a dropperful of the old SAM oil, add water, followed up with a glob of DevaCurl One Condition as I'm squeezing the water out (this is my attempt to keep the glycerin in the Fig CC from drying my hair out right now). Then I will add a pea-size of Re-Moist on the ends after I've gotten a bit more of the water out and before I add in my gel.

I am a single cleanser, but have used remoist as part of my cleanse.

I mix the RTM with the oil.

Other than that, I don't mix products as much as scents within a product group. Right now I am mixing FIG with FGP. My long, fine straight hair really like the wheat based cleansers better than most of the soy, but combining them works.

This is what I do. I mix a few drops of CA oil in with 1/2 pump 613 for my leave-in. For me the 613 is silkier as a leave-in than any other CC. I have naturally curly hair but don't know the #abc type. Thick, in that I have a ton of hair, medium texture, soft. Although I don't have coarse hair like you I think it might work for you too! Try it!

I hadn't thought about the oil as part of a leave-in. Maybe I can do that when it warms up a bit, when I don't want to put as many products in my hair. I would love to just do the few pumps of CC (and some oil) as a leave-in and walk out of the house. I'll give it a try =).

Adding oils to your leave in will give it some added moisture.
