Am I doing this right?

I have very fine, thin hair that is just above my shoulders and I purchased the TSV. I started out using 10 pumps but that seems like a lot. Today is my 4th time using the WCM CC and I just feel like my hair is really greasy. Anyone else have baby-fine hair? How many pumps do you use? And is there a "learning curve"? Will my hair look worse before it looks better/
