Has anyone else experienced changes In the results you get with the cleansing conditioners at different times of the year? I have been reading about how glycerin is a humectant which can draw moisture into your hair in humid climates, but can draw moisture away from your hair in the dryer/cooler months. Fig cc has a lot of glycerin. Has anyone noticed they get better results with fig in the summer than in the winter?? I have noticed I like lavender a lot better in the winter. What are your thoughts about this???

Hilary, I tend to stay away from the formulas with the most glycerin. I have thin/fine hair that is also very porous. Lately I've been wondering if the glycerin in these formulas leaks out of my porous hair. That might be why my hair feels weighed down seems to need to be washed more frequently when I used those formulas.

HappyDaze, I just checked all the ingredients lists for Wen CCs at Chaz Dean's website. In particular all of the rice based CCs only have a very small amount of glycerin in them. By law, companies have to list ingredients in descending order based on which ingredients are present in the greatest amount (i.e. largest amount to smallest amount). Below is what I came up with...

--

RICE BASED CLEANSING CONDITIONERS & SMC

* BGT, SMC & all the Kids CCs have a lot of ingredients and, in each case, glycerin is one of the last ingredients listed.

--

613

* lots and lots of ingredients before you get to glycerin which is listed about two-thirds of the way down the list.

--

POM, FAS & CA

* FAS, POM & CA all had shorter ingredients lists but glycerin was always one of the last ingredients listed.

--

WHEAT BASED (excepting CA) & FGP, WVM, & SGGT

* glycerin was one of the first ingredients listed. Here's how glycerin ranked:

FIG - #2

SAM - #3

TT - #3

FGP - #7

WVM - #7

LAV - #8

SGGT - #9

I hope this information helps.

P.S. thank to jennys kid for the SGGT information.

Thanks for the list. I was wondering if this might explain my issues with BGT but it doesn't. Because the dew point has been high ( over 60) and my hair hated the BGT, but loved the kids and FGP when I used it recently. {#emotions_dlg.confused1}
