Question about Glossing Serum?

I would like to try this, but don't really know if I need it or if would be be a waste of money for me. Is it only for certain hair types? Aside from the shine it imparts, is it supposed to be something that helps you get a better straight style? If I curl my hair will the GS make it go limp? What's so great about the GS that the Pomegranate Finishing Creme didn't deliver? Thanks
