Gallons and price

Does everyone think the price of the gallons are worth it? I think they could be cheaper. Aren't they the equivalent of four 32oz bottles? You can get two 16oz bottles (1 SAM, 1 Pom) for $40. So you could get a gallon of those 2 scents for less than the single jar gallons that just came out. Did I calculate that right?

Yep, those duos are the best deal out there on the CCs. Pity they all have SAM, since that's awful for me! The only other benefit to the gallons (besides just getting the one formula you choose) over the 16oz bottles is pump capacity...10 pumps from the smaller bottle vs 1 pump of the gallon for the same amount of CC. But yeah, if you can use both of the duo formulas and don't mind all the pumping, it's definitely cheaper!

i think the claim of the gallon being the equivalent of four 32oz bottles is deceiving as i've never gotten four 32oz bottles out of any of the gallons i've ever had. i've only gotten 3 2/3 - 3 3/4 bottles at most out of them. i guess you could get 4 if you don't fill the 32oz bottles to the top but i fill my bottles full rather than leaving a couple inches at the top.

Those duos are definitely a better value IF (and a big IF) you like and use both formulas. I only use TT (and smc, of course) and DH prefers SAM so for us, a TT gallon and a SAM gallon are the perfect option for us. TSVs are a better value too but, again, IF you like and/or can use all the products. For me, I am happy with the CC and the TT oil and don't need anything else at this point.

Well, there is a duo with TT and SAM...if you buy 4 of them (128oz), the total including S&H is $178.05. So you're basically saving just the shipping charge on the gallons. And since you essentially split that over 2 shipments (since no S&H is charged on the 2nd gallon shipment) you'd actually only be saving half of that.

well, I never knew there was a duo with TT and SAM!

I am still getting the gallons because of the pump factor and much less waste in terms of the number of plastic bottle compared to one gallon bottle. I try to minimize waste whenever possible.

Yes, with such a small price difference, I'd probably do the same, and for the same reasons :) But if you start running low in between gallon shipments, keep that duo in mind!

I certainly will-thanks so much for letting me know that it even existed! :)

I don't understand how 4 x 32 oz. couldn't equal anything but a gallon {#emotions_dlg.confused1}

Thanks for doing the math, HD.

The gallon price (especially for those of us who got the cheaper shipping), was/is the best value, IF that's all a person wants. If someone is looking for styling products, too, then a TSV on A/D is always a no brainer. I've purchased multiples of many of them, which is why I have such a built up supply of SC and Re-moist. Thus, the reason I bought a gallon...to try and even things up eventually.

I agree about the SAM. Hated WEN at first, because that was the first one I tried. Just not for me, but love a couple of the others.

Do I remember correctly - the price of the Wen gallons once had been $160.80? Does anyone else remember that?

{#emotions_dlg.confused1}

I guess that $177.00 for the gallon is the permanent price now. Unless there's a One Time Only special on QVC. That would be nice!

$160.80 was before my introduction to WEN. I've only seen it at $177 on QVC, and more than that on Chaz' website.

This is the link to a page when the gallons were $160.00 with a one time s&h of $11.22. I don't see a date but it was his 25th anniversary. 6 easy pays for $26.80.
