Getting the curl in 'straight' hair - video maybe?

I don't have 'poker straight' hair, but there is no curl. Just normal texture and thickness layered and about shoulder length. I don't have a perm and just cannot get any curl (like the girls have). I'd love to just dry my hair 'with a medium round brush and a blow drier' like Chaz is always talking about with the girls, but I just cannot seem to get the hang of it.

I have the DVD, but there isn't enough on the blow dry part. I use the styling cream and the VTS. I get the twisting part, but..... I just don't get any curl. I use the instyler later, but that doesn't hold either (though it does hold better than it did before WEN)

Is there a video out there for 'straight/normal' hair like the one on the blow out for the african american hair?

Any other suggestions on how to get some curl? I even tried rollers without luck.

Do the girls on the QVC presentations all have perms?
