I have the Royal Doulton Lady Carlyle pattern of china. I am thinking of mixing it with some crystal serving pieces. I feel that it would be less costly to by some crystal serving pieces rather than all Royal Doulton. What do you think?

I think it would be beautiful. I've seen the Waterford rep over at Shop HQ put together some gorgeous combinations.

""Royal Doulton"" always reminds me of Hyacinth Bouquet's dinnerware with ""the hand-painted periwinkles.""

I like mixing pieces. I'm not too much of a matchy-matchy person. It has to coordinate though.

I think crystal and china are perfect together.

I love a mix of pieces. It adds a touch of whimsey and style. Not as staid as in Grandma's day.

I have a collection of sea shaped crystal from Mikasa. I use it with Mikasa arabella dinnerware. I think you should do what you like, not what you think others would. More than likely your items will shine and everyone will enjoy using them.
