I just closed my Qcard account

any particular reason why?

i thought that closing so many cards at once can actually HURT your credit score?

I'm not doing it for my credit score. honestly, I really don't care if it affects my credit score. I have learned that using actual available cash-in-the-bank gives me pause, to consider whether or not I really need or even want to purchase that item before I click on that "submit" button. closing those accounts was a start, and paying off those credit cards will be liberating. freedom from accruing debt for unnecessary purchases was the actual reason.

I, too, heard that one should not close their credit card accounts, since that does impact their credit score. Why not just file away the credit cards and not use them?

Hopefully this will enable you to control your impulse spending.
