Alert About Playground Danger

Police say razor blades were found duct-taped to playground equipment at a park outside Philadelphia.

Police in the Delaware County town of Brookhaven say the blades affixed to equipment in Eaton Park could have injured children playing in the area.

They said other parks in the town had been checked and were clear, but they will be checked by both patrol and plainclothes officers on every shift.

On their Facebook page, police asked parents to check equipment before letting children play, and said older, unescorted children should be warned as well.

Police credited maintenance personnel for discovering the vandalism. No injuries were reported.

A week ago, authorities in western Illinois found a dozen razor blades glued to playground equipment in a city park in East Moline.

This is so sickening. People are just crazy.

I saw this on Facebook too. I think the one I saw said it was in Illinois. You have to be pretty sick to do something like this to poor innocent children. There is a special place in he(( for you.

A single incident is bad enough but two in different states in such a short time frame ...

Sometimes I think that publicizing it causes copycat reactions. I realize that we need to make people aware of these sick ********** but I think it gives to many others ideas. What a sad world it is sometimes.

Re: Alert About Playground Danger

We had that happening here in So CA over in the Orange County neighborhoods a while back. Not just the play equipment but the sand as well. When the person was caught, they turned out to be a mentally ill woman who just wanted to do something like that.

Re: Alert About Playground Danger

This has been a danger for years. Parents should always check equipment.
